Question:

Should I change my name?

My name is Renee Perez. It, apparently, is a p**n star's name. I know practically everyone these days Google each other, and when I tried that all the results I saw were about this p**n star. Apparently, some employers/college admissions officers also Google people's names, and I definitely do NOT want to be identified with Renee Perez, p**n star.

So should I change my name?

  1. There are probably many others with that name too. The employers and college admissions people will see your resume and background that you've given to them and it won't include "p**n". That's all that really matters.

  2. I go by my first initial and middle name. Nobody knows my first name unless they ask. But if you are not comfortable with the name, change it.

  3. Maybe you should use your middle initial or middle name when sending out resumes, etc.  I wouldn't change your name just because it is some p**n star's name, or go by R. "use your middle name here" Perez.

Here's an example:  R. Melody Perez

    or  Renee M. Perez

  4. no.  that's silly.  I've never heard of them googling people.  they go by your application and whatever you submit to them.

  5. Do you have a middle name? You can be "Renee-Midddlename Perez" or "Middlename Perez" without a legal name change.

  6. no it makes u unique! :]
