Should I get Windows XP SP3 ?

I have SP2 and my video card doesn't work with XP SP2 because I downgraded from vista and im using vga video graphics. Will SP3 Solve the problems ?

  1. No.. it does not have to do with your OS or anything.  It's your drivers, uninstall ALL of it and reinstall it.  NOW, go into your device manager and disable your onboard graphics (which i assume you are currently using)


  2. It might fix the problem. Refer to the list of what graphic card Windows XP SP3 supports, surely provided on the main site www.microsoft.com

  3. Have you tried the Video Card manufacturer website to look for the appropriate driver for your current OS configuration?, alternatively if you brought your computer/ notebook unit wholesale from a reputed brand, try going to their website to look for the driver for XP SP2.

    Majority of the video card should be able to support XP SP1 & above.

    Once you resolve your video card problem with XP SP2, you might want to consider SP3.

    I am currently loaded with SP3 & everything looks fine.

  4. You need to go to you graphics card vendors website and download the correct XP driver for your graphics card (it will be free) it will work fine on SP2.

    SP3 is mainly just security hot-fixes.
