Question:

Should I go vegitarian again?

Okay, I was a vegitarian last year for 3 months. But then I stopped, because I went on a trip to Europe and had to eat meat.

I'm really trying to like, find myself, I guess. That sounds crazy, but yeah. And going vegitarian again just sounds like the right thing for me right now, you know?

It's not that I don't think people should eat meat, or that it's wrong, or anything. I think it's natural. It's just the food chain.

But I do believe that animals are treated horribly in the factories, and I really don't want all of those unhealthy preservitives and chemicals that factories put in meat.

So, what do you think I should do? And could you please give a few links that would explain like, all of the unnatural things that are bad for you in meat, or something? Thank you.

  1. There are plenty of healthy meat options; free range chicken, seafood (fish) has good fats and is low in 'bad' fats (get fresh, seasonal stuff- it won't have any perservatives, and will actually be good for you.  I get my meat from a local guy that gets his stuff from a local farm; no hormones/additives/grass diet (which have zero place in food).

Your body needs protein.  Plain and simple.  And there are healthy places to find protein that isn't chock-full of c**p.

With that being said, two words- portion size.  It's amazing when I visit America what portion size looks like compared to other places.

  2. You went on a trip to Europe and had to eat meat? No, you didn't.  I am going on vacation in September but if I had the choice of eating meat or not eating at all I wouldn't eat.  If you go vegetarian this time then you should stick to it permanently.  Meat is injected with hormones, antibiotics, and pus.  Go to meat.com and watch the video.  I am a vegan so I definitely support vegetarianism.

  3. Firstly, I am not a vegetarian. But I know a lot of people who are, and it affects their lives a lot.

Just do what you think is best for YOU. If it makes you feel like a better person, then it's probably right!

Perhaps that information about animals in factories is true, but not everywhere. Most take many precautions before processing meat. Also, organic is good! :)

Another point, be sure (if you do switch back to being a vegetarian) that you do find a way to supplement your daily intake of protein. I know several people who became anemic because they weren't consuming enough proteins (which is abundant in red meats). Just be sure to have a balanced diet!

-- I do not agree with much of anything in the given links,  but it's what you asked for. Hope I helped you out a bit.

Don't forget to consider the disadvantages of being a vegetarian.

  4. As a person who has worked directly with meat processors, I can tell you that your information is not necessarily true.

But if you want to be a veggie, more power to you.  Be sure to educate yourself on a healthy vegetarian diet.  Most people get it wrong.

  5. No. You need to eat meat. Meat is good.
