  1. Yes. Strong company with strong cash flows.

Do not forget the old fashioned CDs as an investment choice :)

  2. It is dead money--neither really going up or down

Go with "t" or "pg" for the dividends for the long haul

  3. Yes.

  4. although I am not a particular fan of either, a diversified portfolio is less risky than a non diversified portfolio.  In that respect maybe it is time to add some GE.   I do have another idea for you to consider however.  You are 100% invested currently in U S stocks.  That might not be the wisest choice for the long term, especially talking 25 years.  The U S government's concept of economics is virtually nil and their policies reflect that.  Why not consider an eft that invests in foreign markets to give you a little more balance to your portfolio.

Here are a couple for your consideration.

VEU an index fund that holds an index of all world stocks except the U S.

EFA an index fund of world developed markets except the U S.

EEM an index fund of developing world markets.  This is more of a risk than the two above and should not be a big bet but up to 15% of your assets will provide for the possiblity of enhanced performance.  It 5 year annual return is about 33%

  5. I heard a talking head on TV the other day say MSFT is a bargain right now.

They do seem to keep generating lots of cash and that is what it is all about... but the stock has been lame the last few years.
