Should I live in Ireland?

Question

My ma and i were thinking about moving to Ireland, but she told me to do some research on it first. So can anyone tell me some things about Ireland. ex: how are the schools? how are the jobs? Do the jobs pay good money? etc.

Ireland is the best place i've ever visited. It may be a climate change from what your used to (i'm from upstate NY). Of course the exchange rate is awful but the jobs there pay more so eventually you'll earn your money back.

Some downers:

You'll probably have to go to a private school but it's way cheaper to go to college (last bit is good)

The cost of buying a house is WAY more expensive

It's chilly especially if your from Arizona but you'll get used to it...

The people there are AMAZINGLY nice

Sights

Atmosphere just feels different

It's easy to get around since it's so small (takes 4 hours to drive from bottom to top)

Accents are amazing

I'm not sure about benefits but I believe the jobs are generally the same. I talked to kids who worked at there school during the summer but thats completly different then a real job.

yes i think its a great place to live and i wouldnt want to live anywhere else

Firstly, you won't need to go to private school. There are more public than private schools over here. The education system over here is excellent, and is closely monitored by the Department of Education. Also, the government pays your college fees but you have to buy your own course materials and pay for your own accommodation.

The pay you earn in jobs depends on what job you get, but for the most part wages are good. Keep in mind, this highly depends on what area of Ireland you decide to live in. Lifestyle varies from county to county.

Ireland has a education system that is one of the best in the world and the state pays for your first degree in college too. But you should research schools in the area you want to move too.

Jobs for unqualififed people are scarce at the moment because there are loads of imegrants who are willing to work much cheaper and again it would probably be advivable to have a job or at least a few possibles lined up before you arrive(try jobs.ie or monster.ie)

Ireland is an expensive country there is no doubt. The most expensive places(especially for property) are dublin and Galway.

I'm Amy I'm Irish and  i live in kildare which is beside Dublin.

u don't need to go to a private school threes plenty of public schools around this is my school http://www.stmaryscollegenaas.ie/

if you are qualified then finding a job shouldn't be that hard but simple jobs like MC donalds are all taken by polish and Filipino people who came here.

the minimum wage here is around 8.60 an hour so the pay is generally good. houses in naas in kildare are probably the best place to buy in my opinion. they are cheaper because they are outside Dublin and the town has a brand new cinema, swimming pool, gym, restaurants, schools, shops and they are building a new shopping centre.
