Should I pay the bill?

I had to attend the emergency room in one of the local hospitals because i had a really bad condition of acute syctitis (i was diagnosed with this previously). I have spent there 2 hours before they finally regestred me as a new client. Then I have spent 2 hours in the room waiting for the doctor. During this 2 hours several nurses were coming in and out asked me the same question did i feel pain. I felt like they were waiting for me to say something else except - yes i do. When the doctor finally came with the same question i said no and he dissapeared again for 20 min. It was very cold in the room so after several hours waiting i decided to walk out of the hospital. I felt like i had to deal with my pain on my own. Moreover it was my birthday and I missed my first classes at university so I was really upset. To make long story short i didnt get any help and still sleeping with the warm pad and take hot baths. My question is am i going to get bill? If yes, should i pay? What heppens if you dont pay it?

If you get a bill, then depending on if you have insurance  and who it is, you can call your insurance provider and either they will just cover what was charged or they will refuse. If you don't have unsurance then you will be in the same situation as if your insurance refuses to pay. Then you can contest the bill first by calling the hospital and eventually you can contest it in court when it gets to that point. It sounds like you have a case against paying because nothing was done, other than the use of the hospital room you occupied.

yes u will, once u register in u r billed 4 ur time in there. call ur local gov or trustee dept or even the BBB

You will likely be charged.  Remember, you chose to go to the ER.  Was it an emergency? Obviously not if you were able to walk out.  Your wait was likely due to the staff caring for patients with life threatening illness.  It is called triage---most serious cases are taken first, not first-come-first-served, otherwise people would die.  ER charges are more expensive than going to a clinic or to your regular Dr.'s office.  It's usually $200 to start.  If you don't pay, it will be sent to a collections agency.  You will be hounded by these agencies.  It will destroy your credit.  The right thing to do is pay the bill.  You received some care, and it was your choice to leave AMA (Against Medical Advice).  You owe the money.
