Hello,

I slipped four discs last football season, one partially ruptured, and i thought that they should have been healed by now. I am only 17 so I thought that they should have been alright. I feel a lot of discomfort When i am at football practice. It is slowly starting to hurt again. I'm afraid I'm going to do permanent damage to my back. Should i play this year? I had no surgery only a ESI shot in my back.

AD)

I slipped them in my lower back

I am (obviously) male

I am a senior this year

I played the last 3 games with my back and right leg hurting very badly, I just don't want to s***w up my back really young.

  1. No way! Maybe if I had 10 less injuries

  2. play and just tell your coach when you start feeling bad

  3. ask a doctor.

  4. man just take it easy! u already messed up alot u shouldnt play gettin that much discomfort!! just stay it out this year.

  5. if you really love it go for it...but as long as you know what your risking...maybe you should wait a few monthes before playing...think about it...is playing a sport really worth being paralyzed forever?

  6. It's up to you man, if your not the best and you don't think that you'll get a scholarship out of this, then if I were you I'd quit, I know football is fun but messing up your back when you have the rest of your life just isn't cool. Also you might want to go back and get your doctor's opinion or talk to your parents

  7. No i don't think you should because as you said yourself you don't want to s***w up your back so i think you shouldn't play football for a while until it gets better .. you don't want to keep playing if your in pain!

  8. Please do me a favor and don't! This COULD damage your back PERMANTLY!

  9. I would try to play and see how intense the pain gets and if you're in a lot of pain take breaks during the season. Play whenever you feel up to it. You can be injured and not play some games and play others.

I went through this last year playing on a bad knee and the doctors told me that it was a good idea not to play when it was bothering me.

  10. I wouldn't if I were you!

  11. yeah! girls love guys who are rough!

  12. yeah!!!

  13. hey kody you awnsered my question about my herniated disc man but dude your s sounds worse but i love football too much to give it up and i will never quit and so did the cortisone shot work at all for you i mean i got my first practice tonight and we start hitting thursday... i dunno man **** sucks were still kids. my doc i went to when i was diagnosed with 2 sipped disc and he saaid one was a large herniation but the other wasn;'t i assumed the small one is gone i still have a little tingling sciatica feeling tho but man i have been lookin online and heard stories of people playing through the pain or getting pk's but ive been down pk ally with a femur fracture its not bad but uit just amskes the pain sometimes worsening your injury but dude im gonna try to play u should to especially since you have had more time to heal than me but once you cant walk stop. lol thats what i did in spring.!@

  14. sure why not?

  15. i wouldnt just train when you feel good enough to train to keep up your fitness....but a year out now would be better than having to quit football 5 or 6 years early due to injury!

just make the sacrifice for now!

  16. talk with the trainer and your doctor

  17. Yes always play

  18. if you love the game and wont to be on the team then go for it

  19. if ya wanna

  20. I know how u feel im in same situation and i realize you dont want to hurt yourself for the rest of your life but you only live once so live it up.. good luck

  21. do you really have to ask a question like this i mean really do you expect people to give you the upmost sincere answer i hope not. no disrespect but seriously this is not a question that we as people who don't know you can answer and the people that answer will give you answers that mean diddly squat only you can decide if your gonna play if your really that badly injured then why even risk permanent damage? i mean come on dude think about it foreal
