I am presently working in my company as an assistant IT Manager. As a manager, I am in chargeof all the IT matters the company handles, such as Network Administration, Database Administration, overseeing the development of new projects, etc.
However, at present, I do not hold any certifications like CCNA, MCSA, Linix+, etc. I also don't really need to hold them as I am managing the department and anything technical is handed over to my subordinates, eg the supervisors, administrators or technicians.
However, do you think it would be wise to get a certification, eg, CCNA? So far, i don't really need any certifications. I act more like the overall in charge, only reporting to the manager.
Is there any advantage for me to get certified even though I am the Assistant IT Manager of the IT department?
Oh yes, I have a degree in IT.
