  1. Absolutely.Tips for service people in Mexico help them out a lot. I always have a pocket full of change for the grocery bagger, the car watcher, the old woman in front of the bank who sells Chiclets and the 8 year old boy who carries a package for me. I'm a retiree on a limited income, and I appreciate the extra service with a smile.Amazing what a little small change can accomplish in foreign relations.

  2. What?  Of course you should.  Anyone in the service industry should be tipped if their service was great.  Keep in mind, most people in Mexico working to make your holiday great, only earn about $4 a day.  So that $1 tip goes a LONG way.

  3. were do you want to go in mexico?thin i will tell you.

  4. Yes. You should. Also, remember to tip the grocery baggers in the supermarket. Also, the kids who work in the packeteria. Their salary is your tip.

  5. you should tip anywhere you go if you liked the service according on how much you paid for, usually i tip 10% and above

  6. Haha, sometimes I think tipping here can become excessive. Somestimes in enclosed parking lots in malls where you already pay a fee to park there you see the guys the so called keep an eye on the car while you're gone. Amazing as it is, people actually still tip them despite from what I'd assume, their salary comes from the parking fees anyways.

Tipping at resorts makes up over 2/3's of the salary of those people and they generally do use the cash for rent, food and to raise their kids.

Tipping in restaurants isn't obligatory if the place isn't top notch fancy, and even in a place like Sanborns I won't tip if the service was bad that day.

Nightclubs expect you to tip them at least 5 dollars even if the service sucked, which I think is stupid. Waiters shouldn't expect to get freebee tips for poor work, it should be given for good service.

  7. I hope your American.

I worked in the service industry for 15 years with tourists and as a Canadian I can tell you Americans are by far and away the best tippers on the planet.

The waiters here make $6.00 usd a day.  I will leave it at that.

At the end of your vacation how would you feel if someone left you a tip equal to 4 days pay (maid) in you were in the same boat.

Mexicans in the service industry often make a low wage and do not throw it away on booze or drugs but instead food and school uniforms for their kids.

Your on Vacation  Throw it around. Gringito

  8. Please tip the driver, tip the dancers, tip the chef, tip the tour guide, all I can say is carry a lot of  $1's.

  9. only tip if the service is good enough

  10. You must be from the US.

Yes you should tip in Mexico and every where else that people have to deal with you

  11. Yes, if the service is good they would really appreciate it.

  12. Yes you should tip but sometimes, the tip is included in restaurants. You may see an extra line on the bill that says "propina". That will usually be 10% so even then you should add more if the service was good.

At resorts, tip but you don't have to go crazy. You can't be dropping a dollar tip every time you order a drink but you can tip your bartenders, waiters, house keeping, etc. a few dollars here and there.
