  1. No! IT should be in the minors but a choice otherwise...

  2. yep it should be it prevent concusions

and they protect you......but the thing is they fog up sometimes but you can just wipe them

  3. No, the should not.

I mean if I were playing hockey, yeah I'd be wearing a visor.......BUT if a man doesn't want to wear one he shouldn't have to. It's his life he's putting in danger, not anyone elses, and he should already know what could happen if he doesn't. If he chooses not to then fine, but no one should feel responsible if something were to happen. He did it on his free will.

I'm not the type of person who likes to tell people what they can and can't do.....it's their life. If that's what floats their boat then fine.

  4. It should be encouraged but not mandatory.  The visor isn't perfect and cuts down on your vision.  And sometimes the visor hurts more than it helps, catching high sticks to the face when it wouldn't have been so bad without the visor.

  5. I'm with Kate, adults should be able to make their own decisions about themselves. Ya roll yer dice, ya move yer mice.

  6. Having played hockey my whole life I am glad to have always worn facial protection (mandatory in every league at every age I've played) but these guys are professionals and they are well aware of the risks so the decision should remain theirs to make. On the rare occasion you actually see guys getting worse injuries because of the shield and I also suspect that requiring visors might lead to an increase of high sticks and cheap shot elbows to the head hoping the visor causes more problems. Reality is that there are more concussions in todays game with the mandatory helmet than in the past when it was helmet optional (or you were even mocked as a puss for wearing one). I think most of that is a reflection of the lack of respect for each other and helmets play a role in that. Adding a mandatory visor and the bet is the head shot becomes a bigger part of the game. Adding the instigator rule added to the dirty play as is, there is less fear of guys going after you if you deliver an elbow to the head because the guy who beats your behind gets the extra 2 minutes and kicked out of the game for protecting his guy. And what happens if a guy doesnt drop his bucket and his opponent punches the visor....would that create more injury risk (there are guys who dont have the balls to remove their helmet during a fight but so far the tough guys generally dont wear visors). It needs to stay optional....hockey is a tough game and if a guy gets injured not wearing a visor at least it was his choice and he has to except the consequences.

  7. Yeah. It Protects your face really good. Once you get used to wearing one you'll never play without it. The only downfall to them is that they fog up sometimes.

  8. it'd prevent a lot of injuries to the face it should but its never gonna be becuase they just dont wont to wear them

  9. Many years down the road it may become just that. There are a few minor leagues that it is now mandatory in . I can agree about making your choice on the ice, but I think that the insurance and such and red tape will all factor in and we will have a situation like it was when Helmets became mandatory. I also think they will use the grandfather rule for it as well. I would never personally skate with anything less then a visor any way

  10. No.  Visors, if worn properly only protect half the nose MAYBE.  But most people that wear them have them tilted up so they do not cover anything but the eyes.  For professionals it is rediculous to force players to wear them.  I am only play rec, and i can tell you that your vision is not all that great. And even if you were to get a stick high up in the face area, it could potentially cause more damage by not allowing the stick to come out from in between your face and the visor causing more damage
