  1. The Joker is out of date on tax allowance. It is currently £5435 per annum, going up to £6035 in September, when the increase will be retrospective back to 6th April.

You don't say anything about your first job, and I would assume that employer's reference will be your main tax office. Contact that office, and ask for your tax free personal allowance to be split between your two jobs. Staff will advise on the best split (according to your two incomes) if you are not sure how you want it done. Any refund will be made through your wages when this has been done.

No, unless your earnings at first job are more than your tax allowance, you shouldn't be paying tax.

  2. You shouldn't be paying tax. No tbe cuase of your age, but because of your earnings.

3.50 for 10 hours works out at 35 per week, which is 1820 per year

Your personal allowance is 4535 (the amount you can earn without being taxed). Call HMRC to discuss this and ask for your tax coode to be altered to reflect the amount you pay. They will probably send you a P46 to complete and then will return your tax money

  3. your payer will take care of tax deduction, if any!

  4. You're given a national insurance number at 16 so that you can pay tax so i would say that you are supposed to be paying it. However if you are unsure than i would contact citizens advice

    =)
