  1. i think you should get a hybrid but make sure to really check it out and get from a good dealer,

  2. Right now is not a real good time to buy the more fuel-efficient hybrids like the Toyota Prius or the Honda Civic Hybrid, because it's very hard to find one.  Dealers have waiting lists for those cars, some are 3 months long, and some of the more unscrupulous dealers are asking for thousands over sticker price.

If you would like a Prius or Civic Hybrid, you might want to wait until mid-2009 when they ramp-up production and make the cars more plentiful so you don't have to pay so much.

That said, I own a Prius and I recommend it highly as long as you don't overpay for one.   It's not only fuel-efficient, the Prius also has lower maintenance costs than regular cars because of things like:

    - The Power Split Device transmission.  The PSD tranny in the Prius has just 22 moving parts, no torque converter, no clutch, no gear-shifting-wear-and-tear.   No fluid change until 60,000 miles.

    - Use of electrical regenerative braking to save wear on brake pads.  No need to change brake pads until 100,000 miles (not a typo).

    - No timing belt, alternator, or starter motor/solenoid to wear out and need replacement.

    - 8-year / 100,000-mile warranty on the battery and hybrid drive components (10 years / 150,000 miles warranty in the states with California-standard emissions laws).

After driving the Prius, normal cars feel downright primitive.  I'm never going back to a normal car.

  3. Sure, you have my vote.

  4. it depends are you a city or a highway driving guy

if your in the city its perfect but if you go to long trips dont
