Yes, if you can't afford a PS3, that is. The PS2 has a bunch of great games. I have a PS3, and all I play are the PS2 games on it. I do recommend it, but the only problem is that they could get rid of it by mid 2009. Otherwise, I think It would probably be a good idea unless you can afford a PS3.

No. They will stop making games on the playstation 2 really soon. NONE of the new games are coming out on the playstation 2. I really suggest you get an xbox 360 or playstation 3 and stay with the present.

no,look around you,it's obsolete and it's not a good long term investment,all the good are on the ps3 now,BUT if you don't have a HD TV go for the ps2,and don't buy a xbox 360,it's a c**p gaming system,it will get RROD after 1 month of using,so I recommend the ps3 if you are planning to buy the HD TV soon,if you don't go for the ps2,good luck

No, get a 360 or a ps3. They have better games like gta 4 and cod4 and much more. Also have better graphics. And the ps3 also has blu ray.

no, they will be obsolete very soon. Even now, NONE of the new good games are being released on it, Example- GTA4, MGS4....save more and get a playstation 3, or you will have NO new games to play coz they only make the c**p games for ps2 these days.
