Question:

Should i see a therapist?

by  |  earlier

For some reason I have these rituals and little tiny things that I HAVE TO DO every day and I get very frightened if I do not. I also have anxiety sometimes to the point of where I can't go to school because I get too nervous. I can't help it and I wish I could. Is it worth seeing an actual therapist or should I just talk to my school counselor?

Thanks for the help!

I really appreciate it.

  1. We could all benefit from therapy, it's not like you have to be totally messed up. Yeah, I think you should go to one. It'll help you work through your issue way faster.

  2. it sounds like ocd but seeing a professional would be the thing to do  just knowing that you have some kind of a mental disorder and accepting that fact is half the battle

  3. Yeah, any anxiety problem that inteferes with your daily life to that extent can be helped by seeing a therapist for Cognitive beavioural therapy (CBT). I have Generalised anxiety disorder and OCD (which you have symptoms of) which i left untreated for years, ending in development of depression as well.

Therapists aren't too scary :) i think you would benefit

  4. :)

i recommend you see a therapist'

havinq anxiety is normal' but not to that

    extreme school conselors' suck

therapists take time and listen to anythinq

and will qive you qreat advice they release stress,

    anqer and frustration'

p.s. my door in my room HAS TO BE LOCKED

so yes. im the same way kinda' and i see a therapist

    && yes its worth it.

  5. Because of the complex nature of the subject it is advisable to consult your doctor if your anxiety  persists for more than a few days. If your anxiety has been caused by too much stress,  be sensible and take things easy. Take care to sit as upright as possible with the support of your family and close friends.

See a therapist if your symptoms  persist!

  6. It sounds like you may have a case of OCD. Talking to a therapist can really help, and seems like a good idea to help you feel better and get out of these habits that are bothering you :)

  7. It sounds like you are experiencing symptoms of ocd (obsessive compulsive disorder) Which is  a chemical imbalance in your brain. It is easily treated. My husband and I both have ocd and take medication for it.  Seeing an actual therapist  would be a really good idea since that is their job. You will find with the right medicine the little rituals and the anxiety is a lot less stressful. You will feel better.Good luck and I hope you find the help you need soon!!
