i heard paypal rips people off and that it can freeze ur account and take money away from you

If you follow the rules it won't freeze up on you. If you are just buying and selling with it and not doing anything that could be considered illegitimate.

If you do they do freeze up your account, but they usually just require some basic information and then release the account back to you.

I had my account frozen once because of a misunderstanding. The day it was frozen, I called paypal, while on the phone with the csr I sent an email and when she received the email she took off the hold. This all took about 15 minutes.

yes ... if you scam of course it will freeze like on ebay if you sold something but dont ship paypal will remove the amound and give the buyer back there money without your permission unless you have provided proof that you have shipped it (ie traking number and such) its part of the reason why ebay and paypal are sucessful .. it just helps prevent scam if your honest nothing will happen to you.

Get it.  The rumors are just that, rumors.  I've had Paypal since it started, and it's a quality service.  Secure, private, quick, and intuitive.  What more could you want?

I've never had a problem with it. Just follow the rules and be careful, like with anything involving money on the internet.
