  1. no, you are not going to turn all girly by eating soy!

    That is an urban myth

  2. Some people think eating soy will do that to men, but no one has come up any evidence that it ever happened to anybody. Where are these men? Why haven't they come forward? What are their names? Who interviewed them?

I never heard of any other food doing anything like that. Why would soy have a magical power to change someone's hormones when no other food can do that?

Since no one can come up with any evidence that it ever happened, and no one can come with any evidence that any other food did anything similar; I think it's a pretty safe bet that it isn't true.

  3. Well it's good for you no matter what you are!

  4. it all depends how the tofu is cooked..im a male...i`ve been vegetarian since 2002 and my s*x life is actually so much better....... i`ve lost so much weight and i cant be more thankful...too much of anything is bad anyway...i usually slice them before grilling them with cayenne pepper or steam them with broccoli and celery and top them up with lots of ground black pepper...i take about 4 servings of tofu a week...you can even fry them in some curry paste...tastes yummy!

  5. Second time in a day you've asked this, you must be really concerned.

Soy proteins contain isoflavones that can mimic a weak oestrogen effect. It's not the same as the oestrogen the body makes - it is 1,000 times weaker than the body's oestrogen.

There are other plants that contain oestrogen too.

There is no scientific evidence that soy will cause males to develop b*****s or lose facial hair. As for losing muscle, go to

    http://www.veganfitness.net/

    http://www.veganbodybuilding.com/

These people are vegan, for many of them soy is their main source of protien and a significant part of their diets. Do those men LOOK like they've lost muscle?

For the record - it's not what you asked, but it's a concern that sometimes gets raised on here - there is no scientific evidence that soy causes, prevents, contributes to or affects the progress of breast cancer, either in men or women, though there are concerns. There are also those in the field who argue that isoflavones may be of help in preventing breast cancer or be beneficial to women who have had breast cancer.

I say - on the balance of evidence, keep eating the soy

  6. Well Chinese and other Asian males eat a lot of tofu. And judging from the ever increasing population of China in particular and Asia in general, the males of that region seem to be doing just fine.

As for the facial hair issue, Polynesians for example hardly eat any tofu and they hardly have any facial hair. I eat tofu every now and then and I look like a werewolf after a week without shaving

  7. it's not estrogen... it's PLANT phytoestrogen!!!

It's a PLANT hormone... not a human hormone.

SO many plants have phytoestrogen in them.  I would guess that nearly all plants have them (no, I cannot think of one that doesn't).  Not only that, so does meat!  Grains, beans, rice... they all have it... you cannot avoid it.

What you "heard" is silly nonsense propaganda.

There are some silly claims that it may cause a slight decrease in male fertility -- come on!!  Who eats the most soy beans in the world?  China.  Who has the biggest and densest population in the world?  China.  Male infertility in China due to their high intake of soybeans...?  What a joke!

  8. I'll answer your question with a question. Should males eat: female pigs, cows, or hens, they contain lots of animal estrogen? Eating a product that contains estrogen isn't like injecting estrogen, your stomach acid breaks it down.

  9. My boyfriend has been eating soy products since he was a small, he has an allergy to milk. I assure you he has no b*****s and he is able to grow a beard if he chooses to.

  10. They have something in them. I am hypothyroid and that is on my NO NO list.

  11. Yes, male should eat tofu, too. It is good for your health.  I always it tofu.  I even invent some recipes out of tofu. Hmmmmm!!!! So delicious and yummy!!!!! Now, I am hungry! ;)
