Should we be worried about this?

In 2003, United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) developed a Concept Plan (CONPLAN 8022-02) which authorized the employment of a 'global strike mission.'

By 2005, the CONPLAN was fully developed for optimum operational execution. The Operational Plan (OPLAN) is known as the Nuclear Weapons Employment Plan (NUWEP).

The global strike would utilize attacks of two types: kinetic and non-kinetic. The non-kinetic strike would employ computer viruses to disable the target's (Iran/North Korea) defense system. The kinetic attack would utilize Tactical Nuclear devices (TacNukes) which would target underground nuclear facilities within the target country.

The plan has been fully operational and has been simulated at at least two US Air Force Bases (AFB) within the United States since the year 2005. All other information is classified.

Israel recently stated that they would not engage Iran unilaterally, which is inconsistent with Israeli anti-nuclear defense. This may suggest that they have been offered bilateral support from a third-party nation. The United States may be the best option for this nation as we have had a fully-operational OPLAN for 3 years.

If we employ this plan, do you think we will have to worry about collateral damage here at home?

  1. Yes. But there's always been plans. Only in rare occasions are they actually used.

I suspect that a plan like this would be a last resort.

  2. Yo Rev....

We plan and sometimes 'rehearse' killing off the world in different ways every day of the year.

I am more worried about IRAN making a first strike on the US via a third party...

  3. This is NOTHING compared to the stuff we did back in the 70's. If you people ever knew how many times we were at DEFCOM 1, (meaning grab your *** 'cause you're about  to lose it), and the lock had been turned and the finger was on the button, You would have been screaming your lungs out.
