Should we go on a holiday?

I am almost 29 weeks pregnant and have 5 other children aged 15,12,9,8 & 2.5 years old.

So far, this is what our year has been like:

Feb - I miscarried and had D & C at 10 weeks pregnant.

Mar - Fell pregnant again, was on bedrest.

April - Husband's mother took overdose of prescription medicines.

April - Husband's mother died after 8 days on life support.

May - Held mother in laws funeral.

June - Found Nursing Home for father in law.

July - Moved house.

August - Father in law nearly died from infection - is still only holding on barely.

So hubby and I were thinking of taking kids on a holiday before I am too pregnant and before baby comes.

Do you think this is a good idea?

We would have to take them out of school for the 2 weeks.

We are in Victoria Australia and would be going to state of Queensland where all the theme parks are.

  1. there are many factors influencing your decision whether or not to go on holiday. in my opinion i think you should just go ahead. it seemed like a very stressful year for you guys. take some time of to relax.

you shouldnt be particularly worried about the kids missing school because you can just go home any time.

4-months pregnant. shouldnt be a problem too big. your husband should be there to assist you if there are any problems.

but if you are still concerned you can always call it off til next time.

talk to your husband about it. and the kids. dont forget the kids!

  2. God, go ahead...you all earned it.  It has been a rough year for you guys.  Enjoy yourselves.

  3. I'm a High-School Senior (12th), your 2 older kids will have a hard time missing school at this age..it will cause them to fall behind.

  4. What are u waiting for?  Pack ur bags and go have some fun, you really deserve it

  5. You have had a rough year, I don't know that  I would want to compound it by stressing yourself out anymore with taking a vacation at this point...vacations are alot of work and with you having had a miscarriage this year already, it may be Best if you just relax and take it easy at home until the baby is born, then go...another BIG  consideration is the kids falling behind in school, Especially your two oldest...Middle and High School is ROUGH if they fall behind...just some thoughts...

  6. Seriously Hun I would, you wont have to go to far and apart from your oldest the others wont miss much at school (that might sound bad, but you can get catch up work for them). You need the break before you can't move well and the kids could probably use the time out from the "year form h**l" you have all had to endure. The theme parks are fabulous, a friend of mine just took her 3 kids there and they could have spent the whole week just going to the theme parks and the kids loved it (ages 13, 12 and 10). If you have the time and the cash go for it!!

  7. h**l yer if any family deserve it after a rough year your family does go have some fun

  8. i think that sounds like a fab idea. you all deserve it!

    have fun!
