Should you abort if raped?

so ive had this argument with my mother and others many times i believe abortion is in most situations wrong weather home abortions or having babies then trashing them or having surgery! but if someone was raped would you consider it right to have an abortion im kind of half and half on this situation because its hard for the woman to raise a rapists child but on other hand i believe everything happens for a reason like this baby was created for a reason what your thoughts?

I think it just depends on the woman.  Im kind of half and half on it too, and do not agree with abortion for use as birth control, but if a woman was raped why should she have to suffer more consequences after shes already been the victim of rape.  chances are the rapist is not going to have anything to do with the child, she would have to raise the child, and the child may remind her of being raped. I frown upon people who use abortion as a form of birth control, but if a woman was raped I would be totally understanding, its not like she made the choice to have unprotected s*x.

ok...first off i blve God doesnt make mistakes....my niece at age 21 was raped in nov 07 and is pregnant and her due date is aug 19 08 she decided to keep it, abortion wasnt even a consideration...that baby, God created for some reason even though not in the best circumstances....he has His reasons tho we might know what they are at this time....that baby is still apart of the mother no matter what and that sweet precious baby shouldnt be blamed for any mishaps of the rape...yea it might be hard but you know,  the baby is an innocent victim in this situation and needs love just the same...why discard such a gift from God...i dont understand why someone would abort such an innocent little child, it totally breaks my heart...it says in the Bible "Thou shalt not kill" and at the time of conception there is a heart beat therefore a life. A LIFE... <3 tho ignorant DR's can not hear the heartbeat doesnt mean their isnt life there that God created. Since you and your mom are arguing about this, show her my thoughts and email me back with what you think and she thinks...hope this helps....

i don't think anyone can answer that unless they have been there I couldn't Evan imagine what it would be like to be raped I don't think there is any right or wrong answer for that

NOT speaking for ALL rape victims here but I was sexually assaulted at 15 and I might have been pregnant. The rapist was my abusive piece of **** "boyfriend" for 2 years (on and off). I was very religious and supposedly he was too. Part of the waiting team and everything but after he raped me there was a chance I was pregnant. He kept trying to tell me he wasn't like the man who molested me as a kid and that we were dating so long s*x was going to happen which is bullshit because we both agreed to wait until we were married. Anyways he wanted to have me abort and I said no. No way in h**l i was going to keep the kid though but I couldnt bring myself to abort even though my mom would have kicked me out on my ***.

I thank god I was not pregnant but I also suffered two nervous breakdowns since he started rumors I was a w***e and whatnot and I lost all my friends and at 15 this is a huge deal, an attempted suicide and started abusing stuff. I also had insomnia. I also would wash my down there with hot water every day and tear at it so i wasnt exactly sound of mind. I don't even think if I saw my body and got reminded even more every day what he did to me i would have made it. I think I would have attempted suicide again. I am happy and healthy now and getting married in 5 months but back then I said I wouldn't but I can't guarantee i would have lived if I was forced to live that over any more than I was at the time and I was  thrown out of my family unit because it took a while for my own mom to believe me instead of crazy teens having s*x and I think she only did because of therapy and my nightmares and what not

To the people who say it doesnt matter or what they would do with never being raped please dont until it happens you have no idea what its like

I'm half and half too so it's really up to the woman. if she could go through the pregnancy and give the baby up for adoption great. if she can't do it then it's her choice. that's an emotional situation.

there is no RIGHT or WRONG answer to this question. im sort half & half. but hmm i say abort. as much as i disagree to abortion but in that situation i say abort. :/

I BELIEVE THINGS HAPPEN FOR A REASON TO. ESPECIALLY WHEN TIME A BABY IS BEING CREATED. ALTHOUGH IN SITUATION LIKE THAT I THINK ABORTION OR ADOPTION WOULD BE BEST. DEPENDS ON THE WOMEN IN THE SITUATION. BUT I DONT THINK MANY WOMEN COULD HAVE A CHILD THROUGH A DRAMATIC SITUATION LIKE THAT AND HAVING TO LOOK AT YOUR CHILD AND SEE THAT OVER AND OVER. ADOPTION WOULD BE GOOD AT LEAST SOMEONE CAN HAVE THE BABY TO LOVE AND YOU WONT HAVE TO DEAL WITH THAT MEMORY ALWAYS FROM LOOKIN @ YOUR CHILD

Wow, nice quistion. Well i hate the hole idea of it so i would say stay with it if it was me. Like you said there was a reason you got pregent. But i can't really see blaming someone for getting an abortion in this problem. Very Nice Quistion! :)

I've never been in the situation, so I can't answer that. I can't imagine having an abortion but in that case I don't know. I think that should be a choice even if you don't believe in abortion because I think some people would never be able to love that child.

Precious child of the Most High God, Abortion is indeed with out a doubt a sin. You see what the devil meant for evil GOD Almighty will turn it around for good for His Glory. God will raise up a prophet or minister or preacher or pastor or even a president when it comes to a child that was born from rape. Babys are all around the Throne of GOD even as i write to you. I'll Just say Abortion is MURDER, and what the problem if the woman was raped, what i would do is keep with the pregnancy and later adopt.

I would say half and half too, it is the womens body and her choice, i mean if i was raped i wouldn't abort the baby and i wouldn't put it up for adoption, it is really up to the women, some would think it is a good option but others wouldn't.  I agree if you aren't raped there is no reason to kill an innocent baby.

OK so you believe the "what ever happens"  well that is life my dear "WHAT EVER HAPPENS" and then there is the one after that "GET OVER IT AND DEAL WITH IT " (i am not yelling i and emphasizing.) Weather we like it or not, there is an  out come of a situation .

Opinions are what they are "yours" Don't worry about what others do or think as you know nobody wins in the arguments. It just creates tension. Live life and love.

We all have to live with what we have done. I have had some and i do not regret anything. what ever my situation I did it for my future. For me.

I just hope the courts don't take away a woman's right !
