Question:

Silicone contact lenses?

I just got silicone contact lenses (30 day extended wear). They are very comfortable and I like them a lot. I wake up in the morning and my eyes aren't red or hurt at all (I do need to add drops in the AM but thats it). My dr. told me to take them out every 3-5 days and sleep for a night without them. The problem is that I am having a very difficult time getting them out of my eyes. For 3 days my eyes were as clear as they have ever been, and then I made them red in the effort to get them out. I never had any problems with regular soft contacts like this.

So does anyone know the trick? I know I really can't just avoid the fact that I can't do it and not take the dang things out. I did finally get them out tonight btw. They are just so slippery.

  2. The facts about silicone lenses is that dont wear them overnite unless ur eye doc says that ur eye adapts well to it. After all the lenses is not a natural material to the eyes.

  3. Make sure you put a moisture drop in before your remove them.  This helps break the seal.  They are stiffer than the older generation lenses so they require a little more aggressiveness when removing.  Keep practicing and good luck.
