Simple algebra help needed?

In the equation x+2c=y, can I just subtract 2c from each side and have my answer, or is it more complicated than that? Please help! Best answer gets 10 points!

  1. well this equation is in standard form already, and so this is the best point at which to solve it.

    if you subtract 2c from each side you will end up with x=y-2c. I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for. For better help please put up more information and I will try to help you

  2. You probably have the right answer now because it looks like a y=mx+b problem and if that's the case, their is nothing further you have to do, unless they want you to graph.
