Skating Clothes?

A lot of my skating friends and I want to know the answer to this question, and we;re dying to get someone to give us a straight answer. Would it be okay to wear leggings/tights underneath a 100% cotton skirt? Kind of like this one, but it'll be a few inches shorter. http://i20.ebayimg.com/07/i/000/f0/02/13ff_1.JPG Would it be a bad idea? Thank you!

  1. its not a bad idea.wear what you want. i mean, seriously if you arent doing anything over an axel its not going to restrict your movements.

but when you skate, even at practice, you should look like you mean buisness. a little mini skirt and some shorts is not skating apparel at all.

and trust me, when you'll go out there,  you might feel pretty stupid.

just sayin, you wanted an answer and thats my opinion.

have you ever seen anyone doing doubles, triples, or quads, in a skirt like that? it shows you have no expectations.

  2. Personally, I wouldn't wear a skirt skating unless it was a skating dress....and even that I don't do anymore.  With a skirt like that, if you fall, even with tights on, your butt gets cold and you might flash someone.  Every once in awhile, we see someone new to skating who wears any skirt that they might have with tights, but it looks funny because there is no briefs or anything under the skirt.  A lot of the other skaters tend to giggle at those people.  I think it just looks odd....skating tights aren't ment to be worn as leggings, they're like pantyhose and something is supposed to be worn over the "butt area."  :)

  3. It's not a bad idea if you don't want buy a regular skating skirt. But when you fall, cotton gets really wet and doesn't dry fast at all.  If you wanted to wear a skirt for skating, get a real skating skirt or one that is made from polyester and is stretchy.  the style you chose probably wont allow much movement.  chose one that has a stretchy band at the top and just flows down. (sorry i don't have a pic)  a skort would be the best choice.  some skorts almost look like real skating skirts.  wear whatever. as long as it doesn't restrict movement and you feel comfortable wearing it.

  4. This would not be the norm and skaters might be looking at you funny.

Now, If your an adult skaters they still might be looking at you funny, but who cares. lol

  5. dont spin and you'll be okay :D
