Sky HD???????

Question

Im wondering all about this so I have a few Q's - What Im hoping to do is to get the HD box purely because it has more space to record on & then take the free Sky+ subscription.Im not interested in the HD channels (all 2 of them!)

If I take a dumb Sky Hd subscription I will get a cheaper HD box here in Ireland but the subscription will cost €15 a month!

What would happen if I did this then cancelled the subscription after a month or 2,What would Sky do??

Is there anyway around the HD subscription?

If I bought a HD online can I upgrade my regular Sky to Sky+ without having to buy the Sky+ box? If I do this will I lose warranty with Sky?

Im confused!

Basically like I said I want the Sky Hd box but with just the free Sky + subscription.

I suppose if you take out the Sky HD, which has just come down to £150, and then cancel the subscription a few months later, they'll just switch off the HD channels, there are 15 on Sky by the way, not two.

Unfortunately, Sky have no plans to do away with the subscription.

It would be pointless buying an HD box just for the Sky+ function, as the HD box is more expensive.

The question you say I didn't answer, is answered in the first three lines of the answer.

The question you ask is hypothetical, because only Sky know what Sky would do!!!

why don't you try a hard drive disk recorder not as simple as sky+ but can store lot more than sky+ plus sky is to expensive you should try freeview or freesat which is good and they have their own sky+ equivilant without the subscription but maybe they don't suit you

and i'm not sure if you can get them in the south of ireland.

Why don't you ask sky what they'll do, they're the ones pulling the strings.
