  1. Yes, it will continue to pick up all the free channels. You will need to keep your old viewing card inserted to pick up FIVE as it hasn't been unscrambled yet, but this will change by the end of this year.

Technically, it's Freesat rather than Freeview: Freeview means free channels through an aerial (terrestrial), Freesat is through a dish (satellite).

Unfortunately, some of the channels that are free on terrestrial Freeview are NOT free channels on satellite at the moment. At the moment these are: Virgin 1, TMF, 4Music, UKTV History, Dave, Five US, Fiver, Sky Three, and Sky Sports News.

  2. yep

  3. Yes. I dumped Sky over 18 months ago and still use the box. Not all Freeview channels are available but most are including Kids & 5.

Thinking of Virgin now, box, phone & Broadband for £20, still cheaper than Sky.

  4. yes it should pick up all the channels that freeview gets and quite a few more - in fact 200 in total. To check the full listing of channels available search yahoo.co.uk for Sky's freesat offer, aimed at people without a box, but equally valid for someone that has one still
