It has to do with differenent parts of your brain adding to the dream that you are dreaming.

What you read and see does go into your mind and comes out in dreams.

  1. Huh?  Maybe....I guess.  I guess I have a hard time believing that aliens travel billions of light years so they can sneak up on us in our sleep and stick probes in our rears.  I would imagine that if aliens did come here, they may be cautious at first, but would eventually come out in the open.  Or maybe they've intercepted TV signals from us and think we have the capabilities that are displayed in Star Trek and that's why they sneak up on us??

  2. The brain does what it can to make sense of the stimuli pumped into it.  Sometimes when nothing makes sense it sort of "runs home to mama", meaning it does what it can to make a coherent narrative.  In the event someone experiencing sleep paralysis he is confused.  One way to make sense of what he's experiencing is to create a sort of shorthand version of what happened.  Depending on the person, the time period and his culture, this may or may not take the form of an alien abduction.  A century ago, before the UFO craze swept the nation, there was no such thing as an alien abduction.  The sleep paralysis victims blamed something else entirely.

  3. I saw a similar special (if not the same one) equating sleep paralyzation to what people have been referring to as alien abduction experience. It still left doubt in my mind since they weren't exactly clear on the concept that the condition wasn't somehow related to an alien abduction, instead of the other way around.  Anyway, it seems there is way too much conjuring of other possible scenarios going on for my taste.  I believe this world has probably been contacted by outside life forms and that there is knowledge of that fact by certain officials in governments around the world.  I just believe that the powers that be don't think the general populace could handle that knowledge so they have kept it top secret. There are way too many other existing galaxies to believe that only this one we live in has intelligent life. I don't belive we are alone.

  4. yes, correct, sleep paralysis is the cause of alien abductions, incubus and succubus attacks, the Grey Hag, the Great Grey Monkey, and many many other legendary figure from different cultures.
