Sleeping Problem?

I have a sleeping problem. I can never fall asleep easily. Like it is right now to me 1:53 am and I'm not even tired. It is like I'm nocturnal! How can I make myself go to sleep quicker and earlier. Then the other part of my problem is that I sleep to like noon or 1 p.m.. I don't like it! What can I do to fix this. I know staying up is the reason why I am sleeping late so how can i go to sleep?

  1. I have the same problem.

First, don't try to make yourself tired by staying up

all day and night. It'll just make you sleep the same

amount. It's no help. Already tried it this summer.

OK; Some things I do when I have to get back in my school

routine, need to get up early or just want to get up at decent

    times are:

-Get in a bedtime routine. It sounds completely childish but

it does work. I used to take a bath around 9:30 every night,

after that I'd go lay in my bed. Some how after a few days

my body knew after my nightly bath it was time to shut down.

-Get physical activity everyday. Not on a weight-loss thing

or whatever, but this too does work. If you go running or

workout everyday at the same time it will make you feel

better when you sleep and you will probably sleep easily.

(This worked best when I used to do cheerleading, I

combined it with my bath routine. I had cheerleading from

8-9pm, went home, took a bath and went to sleep.)

Some people use Tylenol PM or something like that without

the actual medicine in it. Its just an over the counter sleep

pill. I forget exactly what to look for but I have people in my

family who used to take it.

The bet and safest thing to do is to get into a routine of

going to sleep at the same time every night, even if its like

midnight or something at least you'll be able to sleep.

    Hope I helped.

  2. I have the same issue. I'm going to start taking sleep aids though. Maybe ask your parents and doctor if that is an option for you.

  3. i go to bed at 4 and wake up at 9

    i have sleep issues

    i just hate sleeping

im not sure about you though

i think you just like staying up late

    or dont get tired easily

  4. I have had the same problem for 2 years and i have found the only way to get to sleep without taking medication is to physically exhaust myself like go for a run for a couple of hours.

Also one of the main reasons for not being able to sleep is your brain is too active and cant rest. Watching TV is one of the best things you can do to relax it as you are just watching, reading either a computer or book will make it worse. If you are lying in bed trying to sleep dont think about why you cant sleep or what you are doing tomorrow because you are just stimulating it. You can reflect over your day as you lie there with your eyes shut because you are bring up memories and not "thinking" of things too do, it can be therapeutic.

    Hope this helps

  5. Oh, that always happens to me to when I am having fun with my besterest friend on Yahoo! =D, but my mom (even in the summer) forces me to go to bed early, so as soon as I go to bed, its easier for me to sleep, but If I am on the computer, I never feel sleepy. So actually GO to bed, and you'll find yourself sleeping in no time =

  6. Go to bed by 12:30 every night and you should wake up at the same time everyday.

  7. It's a good idea to not eat or drink anything before you go to bed at least 2 hours prior because it gives your body and extra boost to stay awake.. and if you smoke (bad) don't do that either at least an hour and  a half before you're bedtime. Best bet is to turn off all lights and no noise. I am an insomniac and this has helped. set your alarm force yourself to get up in the morning..

  8. I take prescribed sleeping pills during the school year. During the summer I'm usually up all night and go to bed after my parents leave for work at around 8 or 9. I wake up at 2 or 3 in the afternoon.

And you think you're nocturnal? Lol :P

  9. that's habit,,try to sleep earlier about 9 pm,,before you go to bed you can read some books or do something that tired you,,

  10. take sleeping pills.

right now its 6:28 am and i havent even been to sleep. but when i do i wake up at 6 in the afternoon.

lol i think i have a bigger sleeping problem...

  11. i have the same problem i got to bed at about 4 or 5 every night and wake up after 2, it takes me a long time to get sleep, its 8 am now and i didnt get any sleep last night. i think the trick is not to go on the computer or play video games before you go to sleep. maybe read a book or something? i dont know, i kinda like being nocturnal!

  12. I have the same problem, man.

Only it's 2:56 here and I have no desire to go to bed.

On some nights, I stop using my computer and other electronics an hour before I go to bed - then I read. Although it may not be your favorite hobby, it is definitely a good way to get tired.

    Sleeping pills can also work.

And I set my cell phone alarm to call me at 10 am at the latest.
