Looks like an awesome car, but is it? What's the gas mileage? How much do they cost?

  1. There glorified golf carts. There bad. Nothing smart about them.

  2. they cost about $14000 and get about 30-35 mpg

  3. too much for a bumpy choppy ride.

if you only drive to Church on Sunday it is perfect but other than that it's not friendly.

    $11,590 - $16,590

    some owner reviews:

I think they could have made more of either a nose or longer back, even adding about 6 inches for more cargo would be helpful on trips. There is plenty of room for the groceries, bags and suprisingly fits alot of stuff....However, there is no spare tire, it comes with a repair kit, fix a flat and a compressor though. We bought an extra can of fix a flat just in case. Wish there was cruise control. I would like wider tires, too, but no big deal. The transmission is an automated manual, no clutch pedal...it drives like an automatic, but slower. Not my favorite thing about the car, I hope they can get a better automatic or even offer a stick, which I would probably buy.

The smart is harsh over bumps, pot holes, and rail-road tracks. I In my vehicle, between 20 to 30 miles per hour there is a minor axle whine when coasting. Since I always have my radio on, I do not hear the whine as much. At high speeds the vehicle is sensitive to strong wind gust. But unlike most small cars, the smart safety equipment helps you in this area. At some low speed and high speed event, there are some squeak and rattles of the door panels and rear gate.

This car gets attention, so it's not for everyone. The short wheel base means you feel every bump, but I expected that. The cup holder design is pretty unusual, as is the cd storage device. The engine cover is hard to put back in place once it has been removed (so I don't recommend removing it yourself). Also, changing fluids might be a challenge, so we're just going to let the dealer do it. There is no spare tire, just a tire repair kit.

  4. I own a smart fortwo in the US. Love the car.

    For a half/half highway/street, I get about 38mpg. That's with A/C on full blast.
