  1. I always slighly open the door and let them air dry...

  2. Your dishwasher might be in need of a cleaning - I'd put a 1/4 cup bleach in the bottom and turn it on (while empty) and let it run and dry. Then do it again without bleach to rinse.

  3. They shouldn't.  First, check your dishwasher...some of them have a filter or screen that may need cleaning out.  Once you've cleaned that, or if you don't have one, get a dishwasher cleaner.  I can't remember the brand, but it's on the aisle with all the dishwasher detergents.  It's a little bottle, and you just take the cap off, turn it upside down in the silverware basket, and run the dishwasher a cycle.  You've probably got old food buildup in your dishwaser or just bacteria...so your dishes aren't getting as clean as you think.  If you don't want to purchase that product, you can use white vinegar.  Just pour about a cup or 1/2 a cup in at the start, then come back in when the dishwasher is on the rinse cycle and do it again.  Vinegar is a natural disintectant and odor remover.
