Snakes and Rope???

(my mom wanted me to ask this)

When my mom was younger she used to live in mexico. Her and her dad would camp out. (this is in the country where there are a lot of snakes) He would put a rope around their camp because he said it keeps the snakes out.

Is it true that snakes dont cross over rope???

This is, indeed, a myth.

Snakes will in fact cross a rope on the ground. they will also cross railroad tracks. Unfortunately, many of those people who sought safety from snakes by sleeping on the railroad have met with a much more deadly danger than the snakes that they feared.
