Snapping turtle?

my snapping turtle i got at the pond it is about the size of half a dollar billi but some bread in the tank i put him and but he seems like he is trying to swim through the glass and he won't eat what is the problem

Snapping turtles only eat meat (live fish).  Bread is not something it can eat.  Goldfish (comets) contain a poison that will slowly kill turtles that eat them-go with feeder guppies and rosy red minnows  he will need to eat a large amount of them several times a day until he gets bigger.  Wild caught animals often won't eat in captivity and may die.  Do you know what you are going to do with it when it starts to get 40-60 pounds?  Contrary to what some people say, there is absolutely no way to keep a turtle small unless you starve it-which is illegal and cruel.

If you plan to release it when it starts to get too big, keep in mind that it is considered a pet after only a couple of weeks in your care and is therefore illegal (and extremely irresponsible) to release into the wild, even if you put it back where you first found it.  He also wouldn't be able to survive on his own.

Put him back where you found him before it's too late you condem him to death, either from poor care (NO turtles eat bread) or from predators once you later release him illegally.

It's a wild animal.  Take him back to the pond where you found him and let him go.  He'll find plenty of food on his own in his natural environment.

you shouldnt just take wild animals out of thier natural habitat, if you keep him he will most likely die, you should take him abck where you found him

Make sure the turtle has something to stand on because he doesnt breathe under the water. He is swimming to get to the top for air. He doesn't bread try going to a petstore or wal mart and getting aquatic turtle pellets or small fish like red comets.

Put animal BACK you don't know what he/she needs to survive let it go to live it will die if you keep and people like you are the reason wild life suffers so take back where you found it want a turtle go get one from a pet store and leave the wild one alone they know what they need to survive you don't, TAKE BACK and let LIVE.
