hey,

i was wondering if what i have been doing could prep me for snowbaording. i made a back yard rail(5ft long about) that i can grind fully with a 50/50 and almost with backside and frontside boardslides. i can also do a butters. but i was worried, i have been doing this on a skateboard with the trucks taken of and i was wondering: if i practice on this board will it improve or lessen the way i perform the tricks on an actual snowboard?

thanks for the info

  1. It will definetally improve the way you do real snowboard tricks, this is actually something i've done to also help my balance...Though the approach and when your on the rail are completely different than snowboarding, they will help you with you balance which will become crucial as you start doing bigger rails...So keep doin it, it will help..

  2. It will s***w you up. Think about it a 2 foot skateboard or a 5 foot snowboard its alot different.

  3. ok boxes are the easiest type of rails u can find, they are level which keeps the board ur riding level, on a round rail, a pole for example, you need to balance it yourself, dont forget your snowboard is slippery and you need to watch out it doesnt kick out, the only thing with boxes is if you have a sharp edge, the edge can catch the box material, that whiteass hard stuff, and u can wipe out prety bad, wear a helmet with rails and keep your back away from edges dude

  4. they're slightly different. skateboards dont have bindings. and if you're sliding you're foot to ollie (obviously) then it wont help getting on, but may help with balance.
