Bought a snowboard from a shop in aus, and its a morrow source 159.. Im between 170 and 174cms tall.. And it sits slightly above my nose.. Its also a wider board and im a size 9 in us.

I've been snowboarding before, had a weeks lessons and spent 2 weeks on the mountain, im ok, nothing great..

Would I be likely to get away with a slightly longer and wider board or will it be hard for me?

  1. I think that board is a little bit too big for ya. Snowboards are generally suppose to come up to about your chin. Going bigger will make you work harder on the slopes

  2. In general, I think that the snowboard is supposed to come up to your chin or roughly 90% of your height.  Also, remember that weight plays a factor in addition to height.  The heavier you are the bigger the board you'll need as well.  I'd say with a size 9 shoe you're looking at about 25 cm in width or roughly 10 inches.
