Question:

So I got new glasses today...?

I HATE them. I look like a joke. Some sort of stupid clown.

The sides are lifted or whatever they call it. They are NOT adjusted right and are very uncomfortable. I didn't really get to pick out which frames.

My mom just kinda said "Oh, those are cute, she wants them."

So I was like "Sure???" even though I didn't really like them at the store. I could not tell what they would look like anyways because I can't see anything without my glasses or contacts.

I thought they looked a lot better than they did. But I guess it didn't matter since my mom got to pick the frames.

I can't return them or exchange them.

They are horrible. I HATE them so much.

What should I do?

  1. If return or exchange is out of the question....

Your best bet is to bring them somewhere else for adjustment. Obviously the place you got them from isn't interested in getting it right. Find an optician who will take the time to get them right for you.

On a side note... if they adjust it properly at the new place, see if they are willing to verify the prescription for you. If the Rx are off by more than ANSI standards you may be able to go back where you got them from and get a refund/exchange =-)

  2. um u can get them adjusted for free at any glasses store for the uncomfortable part...

    and... for the looks...

well... ask ur mom if u can get contacts OR glasses. Tell her the truth

If not.. and all else fails... and IF u must... just break them... "accidentally"

    lol

  3. I work for an optometrist and work with glasses. You can go to any place that sells frames and they will adjust them for you at no charge. If it's the color you don't like, many frames come in up to 4 different colors.

Most store chains like your Eyeland, Boscovs, Sears, etc, will accept returns within 30 days. I work for a private doctor and even though we don't advertise this, we would still do this if someone was unhappy with that they purchased. Most glasses can cost a lot of money and explain to your mom, why spend all this money on something you don't like? It don't make sense!
