So much hatred in Y!A?

Wow, this is the first time I'm reading and answering questions on Y!A during the Olympics. Has there always been this much fighting in here? Or is this Olympics "special" for some reason?

  2. People rooting for different teams, countries...disputes and differing views on results...it's bound to happen.

  3. No. Go to the Celebrities or R&P, there's always war about the Jonas Brothers.

    Don't even try going into the politics section...every time i go there i get a headache.

  5. its cause some people are mad about their athletes losing. In a way, it is the olympics that make so much hatred. ur right.

  6. It is sad to see the spirit of the Olympics dragged down in politics and prejudice.  Articulate and fair disagreement could be encouraged with out personal attacks and bad mouthing. or at least so many thumb downs.

    No one was here in 2004.  The most senior members I've seen are early 2006.  

  7. It's special because it's being held in a corrupt country and the judging seems to be corrupt as well.  

    It's not just U.S. vs China but China vs. World when it comes to judged events, not all but a few.

  10. It has been really awful lately. I love the Olympics and what they stand for. I can't stand all of the bashing of other countries, the prejudiced statements, and the racist comments. It just reflects badly on people and their countries and causes the rift between all of us to widen even more.

  11. There are sections of Y!A that I don't even go to because of the mean spiritedness of the people who hang out there.
