I just came back from a month long trip in hong kong where i was ambushed by rain/thunderstorms most of the time. I was told this is usually not the case. I am back in america now, but still checking the weather report and its booked solid with "thunder storms".. is this normal for summer time, i feel like i missed a great trip because of all the rain.

  1. during summer, Jul - Sept. it's our raining season but not as heavy as last month in HK. yeh it's special & weird. last week was soooo hot & sunny but sudden today. it's turned all dark & cloudy again as a typhoon is nearby but not 'attacking' HK. it's just swept to mainland china. but stil bring us rainstorm soon.

  2. It is not a normal weather situation in HK during this time of the year. It should be hot (which it is now). The rain/thunderstorm happened due to typhoon that has just passed Taiwan then headed to Fujian (China) and moving to other parts of China.

Sometimes when planning a trip, it would be good to know the weather but most importantly, check out the natural disaster (if applicable).
