when the world runs out of oil. Does that mean no more vehicles and other things?

I am pretty scared. And I'm pretty sure our government won't switch us over. >.< They can't depend on the people. Hybrids are pretty expensive, along with other gas-savers.

Far from it. First, everything that runs on gas can run on other fuels.  

Second, manufacturers are starting now to build vehicles that will run on hydrogen (BMW already has one).

By the time petroleum runs out, there will be an infrastructure for hydrogen and hydro-electric vehicles.

There are various things that can happen when the World runs out of oil. First off, for the people that have cars that are dependent on oil to run, the cars will no longer be useful, unless they are converted to be able to handle another source of fuel instead of gasoline.

   Many of tha car manufacturer's of today have made Hybrid vehicles. There are different types of Hybrid vehicles, but the most common is the type that can run off of gasoline, or electricity.

     Other Hybrids allow you to use different types of Gasoline, such as Chevy's new Hybrids that can run on FlexFuel. Also known as (FFV) Flex Fuel Vehicle. Those type of vehicles are explained here  http://www.fueleconomy.gov/f*g/flextech.... .
