Sociology of Shyness in Public?

Why do most people confuse shyness for pride?

Sample:

You never comes to our party. You must think yourself better than the rest of us. Really? Better? In what way?

There are SHY and TIMID adults, agree?

Shyness does not equal pride!

Some people prefer and/or find inner peace and happiness being alone.

Your view?

  1. hm-mm... for me if you are SHY you might have  inferiority complex. you would feel the people present on that occasion is better than what you are so to avoid being embarrass in-front of them you avoid them by not attending social gathering. while in the other hand PRIDE is a superiority complex you intend to look great or you believe to yourself that you are much better than anyone the reason of not joining in to a party because you might think "it such a waste of time because those people who are at the party couldn't meet on your standard or would feel insecure so you just simply avoid them". ( But for me even if its you are shy or have pride for not attending the party)THE REASON IS "YOU DON'T FEEL COMFORTABLE" so what's the point of coming if in the first place you know you wouldn't have fun at all.  (and yes there are people who would prefer to be left alone and have serenity on their own)
