explain the history of solar energy. When was it first used and how was it used? I need legit answers plz!

ok, well it depends on what u mean by "first used it" because solar energy is stored in plants. the first life forms could have been using solar energy by eating plants or some bacteria and plants could have harnessed the energy and made their own food. or, humans could have made fire using the sun's energy a VERY long time ago. this all varies. hope i could help.

The photovoltaic effect or the production of electricity directly form the sun was discovered by Frenchman Henry Becquerel in 1890. In 1891 American Clarence Kemp received a patent for the first solar water heater.
