Question:

Some D-Day locations in France?

I know alot about WWII and I was thinking of one day visiting Normandy, France and I need to know if the bunkers on one of the beaches (Omaha, Sword, Juno, Gold, and Utah) are still there and if there are tours or some kind of special thing where you can go in the bunkers and walk on the beaches and stuff like that.

And so if there are any websites or anything you can show and/or tell me about that would be great. Also if there are any pictures or videos anyone can show me that would also be appreciated. Thanks!

P.S. If you know any other great WWII locations I can visit please tell me! I know about a lot of them but I'm sure there are a few I don't know about! Thanks!

  1. I went to Omaha beach in 2001. You don't need to go on a tour, you can just walk around yourself. The bunkers are still there. You can sit on the beach. The american cemetary at St.Laurent de mer is there, all walking distance.

  2. I saw some bunkers and a WWII Tribute in Saint-Malo (Brittany). There was also this mark of the allied forces route indicating "mile 0". This marks follow the routes they (the allied) took from the coast to Paris.
