Some Sound System tips

Question

I want a good sound system and my budget is $500

i wanted 1 alpine type R, but im not sure if one is good enough

could someone please tell me, what can i get for 500 bux?

I want good speakers, good amp, good sub (for low frequency rumbles, not loud annoying kicking) and i already got my head unit picked out

if possible, the sub rms around 500? if not, no lower than 350

with $500 you can get 1 good amp...i spent $5798 exactly and that without installation. i suggest get about $2500 and get low grade equipment.

I got a kicker zx300.1 a sony head unit and a pair of kicker jackhammers for about $600

You could get 2 x 10" Phoenix Gold RSDC!  Pretty slick subwoofer for the price.

I suggest 10's mainly because you want good subs that are not loud and annoying.  the 12's are decent too and would give you a bit better lower responce.

with $500 you can get a nice entry level system. a kicker solo-baric l5 12" is around $220 and it rms's at 600watts. then you can get a kicker zx.650.1 amp that rms's at 650 watts at 2 ohms. wire the subs for 2ohms and just turn the gain down alittle. this system will bump really hard trust me. i have 2 of them in my trunk and have had to replace the back glass because they blew it up.
