Some where good around hamburg?

im goin to wacken metal festivel near hamburg at the end of july? i plan to stay a few days in hamburg beforehand then go to berlin for a week afterwards, does anyone recommend other places to go or are hamburg and berlin good choices?

Hamburg and Berlin have plenty for you to do but it depends on how long you are there for as to what you can do and see.

The ocean is great for boat tours in Hamburg and they way the buildings near the docks are very interesting in history as well.

I found a variety of different restaurants just as you would in any city.

So sure you can go to other cities but those two will give you plenty to do if only going a couple of weeks. They have great concerts, festivals and markets all year round.

When you are in Hamburg, you can go to the harbor. By the 'Landungsbruecken' is the old tunnel under the Elbe that you can walk. Also, take a boat ride on the Alster or the Elbe. I also recommend the Reeperbahn (kind of corny but what the heck) and going to Blankenese. The zoo Hagenbecks and the planetarium are also must sees.
