my bf lives in brazil, and i live in the US. i was wondering how hard it would b 2 get him here. he says he cant move here w/o a green card but thats like impossible 2 get...i no about the marrige thing but thats not an option at the moment. is there anyway he can get citizenship or just 4 him 2 b able 2 move here that wont take foreva

just because they cant get married does not mean she is not serious about. He may be in the middle of a divorce and they cant get married untill the process is complete. brazil may not allow divorce which makes it harder.

She never says she doesnt want to marry him, just that she cant marry him at this time.

Unfortunately USA does not recognize common-law relationships.

Sounds like you are not that serious about your BF if you don't want to marry him.

It would be a good idea to give serious thought about how you feel about him and more importantly how he feels about you.

If you are not sure say good-bye. No matter how he comes here you will be responsible for him both financially and finding how to make him legal.

When and if you succeed he might run out on you and leave you emotionally and financially hurt.

Nope.  Unless he's got a college degree in some area of expertise that's in high demand in the United States he won't get a work visa either.

He can try the Diversity Visa Lottery if Brazil's eligible in 2009.  That's his only hope.

Some options are:

H1b visa if he has certain job skills

J1 student visa to attend school

A visitor visa to check things out and see if he likes the country.

K1 fiance visa if you do decide to get married.

The marriage thing you mentioned isn't an automatic visa.
