Songs being deleted

Question

I have a diamond dsm941. I have it only half full and now when I add more songs to it, my songs already on it get deleted somehow. the songs show up in my media player saying its on my mp3 but I have searched everywhere on my mp3 and the songs are completely gone. How can I add songs and not lose the ones already on my player
