Sony CDX-F7700 Headunit mp3 problem?

I have a Sony CDX-F7700 Headunit in my car. Great headunit, but one problem is that I can't it to read the burned CD's of mp3's. I've tried using different brands of CDR's and burning at different speeds and different amounts of mp3's in the CDR's and always the headunit either displays error message or plays 1 continuous song but no audio. The headunit is fully mp3 compatible and plays radio and burned audio CD's just fine. Any ideas on how to fix or remedy this?

  1. this is avery common problem with many sony unit

was with mine too and i sold it.

the lens is very poor in reading rewritable discs and gets damaged within a year....

remedy  - sorry the only option is to get the lens changed

but you can still try few things.

    - don't use re-writable discs

    - write in the lowest possible speed

this can help you play the discs for few more months but the lens will probabley die - chinese quality sucks.
