Sony Ericsson Joystick problem?

Question

I have a second hand Sony Ericsson K800i.

When I first bought it, there were no problems with it at all but recently, when I push the joystick in the downwards (direction, not pressing in middle) it acts as a select key instead.

Anyone else have/had this problem?

Any solutions would be much appreciated.
