If you had to choose between these two cameras which one would you get and why?

I will be doing some documentaries and wedding videos.

I have already read everything there is on both of these cameras, so no need to explain each one to me, just tell me why you would choose one over the other if you were going to use it for documentaries and wedding videos.

Thanks!

  1. You are comparing, potentially, a new $700 consumer grade high definition camcorder to a 3 year old ($3,000 when it was new), likely previously owned prosumer-grade standard definition camcorder.

If the VX2000 is new, or has seen light usage and EVERYTHING works properly, I think I would take it... because I'm pretty sure its low-light capabilities would spank the HV20. And for weddings, it is all about difficult (and lack of) ambient lighting control.
