What are some good home remedies for getting rid of a sore throat fast?

I'm in so much pain I cant even talk =[

Please can someone give me a remedy that works rrreeeaaallllyyy fast?

Have you ever heard or tried vitamin C powder. I know i'm a health care professional in the making but there are times when pharmaceutical medicine doesn't work as great as natural medicine. But I suffer from chronic sore throat and nothing really has helped me as much as this vitamin C powder. One of my ex coworkers told me about it and it really helped out a Lot! I got it from a store called Sprouts and I even recommend it to my pt's and it does help.

You should try to gargle salt water. I know it sounds disgusting, but it is fast and easy, and there is no better home-made remedy!

ice chips and warm soup gargl with salt water and drink tea like the other two said also. another thing you could do is have some chiken broth
