Southern painted turtle?

Question

I will be buying a southern painted turtle soon and would like to know if a 29 gallon tank would be big enough! Remember that he will only grow at the maximum of 5' inches. They also like to swim but I think that he will have enough room! plz share your opinions! thx

It'll be big enough for now, but really, when it gets bigger it would appreciate a bigger tank. It doesn't "need" it, but technically someone could keep you alive in a room the size of a closet or bathroom, but it would be better to have a living room or den.

In the summer, they love to live outside in a kiddie pool.
