Southport...?

has anyone been to the pontins at southport? if so is there much to do, and is it a good fun holiday? also what else can you do in southport itself?

I have not been to Pontins in Southport but I have been to Southport it's self. The amusement park has closed down in the last few years. See the link below for information about Southport:

i have been and to be honest, it wasnt that good, a bit cheep and cheerful. the rooms arent that nice and the only things to do actually in pontins are the usually cheesy family entertainment like karaoke, talent shows etc and in the day there is stuff like go karting, mini golf and rockclimbing. i guess its ok if you are into that kinda thing or if you are with kids but otherwise you are a bit stuck lol. in southport itself, in the town centre there are loads of really good shops and restaurants etc and its really good for a day out. you could go to the beach although its often really chilly! and i dont know if its still open or not but there are a few rides in the pleasure land, but like i said i dont know they are because i think the pleasureland closed a while ago. for the money pontins isnt bad, depending on how long you have to stay there really. its obviously not luxury but it can be really fun if you get in the mood for it!
