  1. Take notes and be around native speakers more often. You can also borrow spanish cassettes and cd's at the library to help you learn. I don't really speak spanish fluently but that's only beacause I wasn't interested in it.

  2. I am just like you. I started spanish in 7th grade (an itro to spanish class) and I am now a junior (16 and taking Spanish 4 Honors). I don't think the High School classes will make you all the way fluent but you will defiantly learn the basics and some basic conversational skills. Rember that this is very proper spanish and most people would not use the same words in everyday conversation (they have slang just as we do). So, you should try to make friends with native spanish speakers and have them speak to you in spanish or even visit a spanish speaking country for some time. Buena suerte mi amigia!

  3. I'm a spanish speaker. I can tell you that you have to learn well the verbs and their conjugation because they are complicated in spanish. This would be a great step to speak and write correctly. Good luck!

  4. I think that the best thing you can do outside of class is to watch movies or shows in spanish. Most of the programs that teach spanish are not very accurate in the way it is spoken in real life. If you just want to understand it then that's okay. But if you actually want to communicate with people learn from them. You'll also learn to pick up on what they're saying without having your book in front of you. Good luck! Spanish really will help you in the future!
